The opposite of enthusiasm is to be negligent. there are different gradations of negligence. The lowest grade is doing nothing, inactivity. Apathy is shown when you do something but you really just don’t care. You are careless and sloppy. Then there is distraction, where you are doing but your attention isn’t fully absorbed. Enthusiasm is the opposite: the mind is absorbed!
